International Center for Economic Growth (ICEG)The International Center for Economic Growth was founded in 1985, as an international non-profit organisation that aimed at promoting economic growth and human development in developing and transitional countries. The ICEG had several regional centres and pursued research activities on a global scale. In the early 2000s, the ties connecting the members of the network became less intensive. The European Center, ICEG EC was the last regional centre to be found, in 2001 as an independent entity from legal and financial point of view. In 2006, The European Center took over the organisation of the whole network and intends to raise funds for joint, new research activities.Information Economy and Society Partnership (IESP)The role of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) and Information Society-oriented research is growing in the fields of social and economic research. As the use of ICTs is becoming an engine of economic growth, productivity and competitiveness; and Information Society is becoming a part of everyday life, research of the socio-economic impact of ICTs has increasing importance. The IESP Partnership is based on previous collaboration and networking of the participating institutions, giving a more organised and structured frame to our common work. The Partnership consists of institutes from the countries of the Eastern European EU Member States and other countries of the South-East European region. Southeast European Network (SEEN)We believe that there is an increasing interest towards SEE region both from political and economical perspectives. Undoubtedly, these countries will be Member States of the European Union sooner or later. Some of them are well advanced in European integration process and some of them are at the early stage. However, the number of candidate countries from the SEE region will increase gradually. For the European Union, the integration of this “neighbouring” region is also a medium and long-term priority. That is the reason why Southeast European Network (SEEN) was founded by several economic institutes in 2005. The main aim of this network is to establish a universal think-tank related to mainly economic issues in the SEE region. The network is a partnership of equal institutions, with no fees or any other duties. The membership is voluntary and based on invitation from the network. |
